September is Here! The beginning of Autumn…

The lazy days of Summer are over and things have been busy in the Studio!

A new addition to our Print Shop will be available Soon for purchase~~ 5″ x 7″ Art Cards!

The first design to be printed was Fractured Fish #1.

The Art Cards will be printed in the studio, with the same high quality, archival pigment inks as our Archival Prints…on beautifully textured, acid-free, linen card-stock.

I love the way the texture is reminiscent of the weave of fabric in my textile art!

Printed on the back of each card is the title of the original artwork, date of print, and studio website address.

In the Studio…Art In Progress

In the Studio, art has been “in progress” and the top is complete for “Field at Toledo” (Spain)!

The next step is to lay the top flat on the cutting table and spot glue any places needed to secure all the pieces. Then I will layer with a thin, cotton batting, plus a backing fabric, before any stitching and quilting is begun…

I like to choose a fabric for the back of the piece, which compliments the overall design. After all of the stitching is complete, many times the back results in an unexpected, spontaneous design of its own! Always fun to see what develops…
