Nature’s Messages

When I began writing this blog post, the challenges of the coronavirus had not begun here…so now it has even more meaning!

If you’ve followed my blog, you know its focus has been on “Using Creativity in Everyday Life“. At no other time in my life has flexibility, creative solutions, and novel ways of doing things been so quickly necessary for all people, collectively, worldwide.

I hope this post will offer some encouragement to everyone’s day…

This time of year, when I’m tired of gray winter days (or “stay at home” guidelines!)…during this time of great change…it seems that Nature begins giving hints of brighter days ahead!

The first peek of flowers…

Renewal

A pop of amazing color when I glance out my studio window…

Hope

Reminders of Change and Transition….

Winter? or Spring?

And Signs of Renewal, Hope & Possibilities.

Amazing Color!

May all of you Take Care & Be Well!

~My Story~

Recently I shared more of my story on Instagram and thought it’d be good to share with all the Followers of this Blog too!

My Story

…As an artist working in textiles, I began my love of fabrics as a young girl in grade school–beginning with sewing an apron in Girl Scouts! ☺ The local fabric shop was a fascinating place for me with all the wonderful colors, different textures to touch, and the endless possibilities of what someone could create from all the different materials! Endless possibilities…!
✂️📏👗👚
Through the years, I sewed my own clothes and later made a traditional sampler quilt. After taking a few classes at shops over the years, I went to Graduate School and studied Apparel Design, taught design classes on the university level, and continued to design original textile creations…

My focus is now Textile Art. I gather design ideas from my life experiences, like from travels… walking in nature and gardens🌿🌷🌻🌼…and studying human development👨‍👩‍👧. I then express those ideas in my wall hangings, or “fabric paintings”! 🎨
Here, I share my works-in-progress, inspirations & ideas I’m gathering, plus new completed Original Art…and Art Prints and Cards.

*I’d love to share more with you about my journey as an Artist…Is there any questions you’d like to ask me about my work &/or creative, design process?

Please ask me in the Comments below! 🙂

Nature’s Winter Art

Inspirations are found at times, such as during long walks through a garden, strolls along the beach at sunrise, or sightseeing on a trip to another state, or country! ~~~

A Swim in Winter…

Recently on a sunny, slightly warmer winter’s day, I took a break and got outside~~walking by the ice covered Duck Pond! These times experiencing the wonders of nature are part of the creative process…time to “see“…to think…to imagine…to experience new things…and

Ice designs on the Lily Pond…

Design from Motion…

…to witness the art that Nature creates with the materials on hand!

Creativity IDEA!~~Take inspiration from Nature and create something this week from what is currently around you. For example, make a meal with only the ingredients you currently have in your kitchen and pantry! Or, think of things you can do, within your current situation, to create new solutions or possibilities in your work or business…or as a parent with your children.

Can you think of other ways that Nature’s artistic flair might inspire you?   🙂
