Beneath the Surface…

Sometimes on gray, Winter days, the idea of Spring feels very faraway…And then, during a walk last week on a warm, sunny day, I stumbled onto this “pop of color“!

Beneath the Surface

A wonderful, unexpected surprise!! So Nature provided a sneak peak of the colorful displays that are being planned beneath the surface!! I’m reminded that in Life, though I may not love the “Winter times“, perhaps they are necessary, in order to have the time for preparation, inspirations, and finally renewal…

So, this week is off to a good start here in the studio….with a burst of encouragement…knowing that tomorrow another ice storm is headed our way…but more confident that Spring is just under the surface and for me to just continue in the same manner~~here in the studio & in my Life!  🙂

**Winter Holidays**

December has arrived here in the mountains with a blast of cold air!! Reminding us that Christmas and the Holidays are just around the corner!

It has been very busy in the Studio and here is the latest, NEW Art that has been completed! Yay! Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow” (2018)

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow (2018), 16 1/4″ x 18 1/2″, © 2018 Joni Beach. Original Art Quilt. Rayon and metallic on cotton. Raw edge appilque, free-motion quilting.

This was a fun and enjoyable piece to create…I imagined the Joy and exhilaration of flying down the hill through the fluffy, white snow with my scarf blowing in the wind! 🙂  Wheeeeee!!

Rayon along with sparkling iridescent and metallic threads were used to free-motion stitch the sledding trails and other thread-painted details….
